R V KP (CC) - Attempted Murder
Mr. Iftikhar represented KP in his Crown Court matter for attempted murder and possession of a knife. The Judge indicated that the starting point for attempted murder would be 20-25 years. Despite the overwhelming evidence against the client, the allegation of attempted murder was dropped during the Trial. KP therefore received a 3 year and 6 month custodial sentence for s.18, which many would consider an exceptionally lenient outcome given the circumstances.
